We realized that making the framework open-source could solve this problem for everyone.Our key insight was that writing checkers isn&#x27;t the hard part anymore. Modern AI assistants like ChatGPT and Claude are excellent at generating tree-sitter queries with very high accuracy. We realized that the tree-sitters&#x27; gnarly s-expression syntax isn’t a problem anymore (since the AI will be doing all the generation anyway), and we can instead focus on building a fast, flexible, and reliable checker runtime around it.So instead of creating yet another DSL, we use tree-sitter&#x27;s native query syntax. Yes, the expressions look more complex than simplified DSLs, but they give you direct access to your code&#x27;s actual AST structure – which means your rules work exactly as you&#x27;d expect them to. When you need to debug a rule, you&#x27;re working with the actual structure of your code, not an abstraction that might hide important details.We&#x27;ve also designed Globstar to have a gradual learning curve: The YAML interface works well for simple checkers, and the Go Interface can handle complex scenarios when you need features like cross-file analysis, scope resolution, data flow analysis, and context awareness. In Spain, there&#x27;s a betting game called La Quiniela: <a href="https:&#x2F;&#x2F;es.wikipedia.org&#x2F;wiki&#x2F;La_Quiniela_(Espa%C3%B1a)" rel="nofollow">https:&#x2F;&#x2F;es.wikipedia.org&#x2F;wiki&#x2F;La_Quiniela_(Espa%C3%B1a)</a>Players predict the outcome of 14 football matches (home win, draw, away win). You win money if you get at least 10 correct, and the prize amount depends on the number of winners. Since all bets are public, the number of winners and the corresponding payouts can be estimated for each of the 3^14 possible outcomes. We can also estimate their probabilities using bookmaker odds, allowing us to compute the expected value for each prediction.As a side project, I wanted to analyze this, but ran into a computational bottleneck: to evaluate a prediction, I had to sum the values of all its Hamming neighbors up to distance 4. That’s nearly 20,000 neighbors per prediction (1+28+364+2912+16016=19321):S_naive = sum from k=0 to r of [(d! &#x2F; ((d-k)! * k!)) * (q-1)^k]
(d=14, q=3, r=4)This took days to run in my first implementation. Optimizing and doing it with matrices brought it down to 20 minutes—still too slow (im running it in GAS with 6 minutes limit). For a while, I used a heuristic: start from a random prediction, check its 28 nearest neighbors, move to the highest-value one, and repeat until no improvement is possible within distance 3. It worked surprisingly well.But I kept thinking about how to solve the problem properly. Eventually, I realized that partial sums could be accumulated efficiently by exploiting overlaps: if two predictions A and B share neighbors, their shared neighbors can be computed once and reused. This is achieved through a basic transformation that I implemented using reshape, roll, and flatten (it is probably not the most efficient implementation but it is the clearest), which realigns the matrix by applying an offset in dimension i. This transformation has two key properties that enable reducing the number of summations from 19,321 to just 101:- T(T(space, d1), d2) = T(T(space, d2), d1)- T(space1, d) + T(space2, d) = T(space1+space2, d)Number of sums would be the result of this expression:S_PSA = 1 + (d - (r-1)&#x2F;2) * r * (q-1)I&#x27;ve generalized the algorithm for any number of dimensions, elements per dimension, and summation radius. The implementation is in pure NumPy. I have uploaded the code to colab, github and an explanation in my blog.Apparently, this falls under Hamming neighbor summation, but I haven&#x27;t found similar approaches elsewhere (maybe I&#x27;m searching poorly). I was at FB&#x2F;Meta from late 2013 to early 2023, mostly working in the compiler&#x2F;runtime spaces. I got hit in the spring 2023 layoff wave. I immediately started making games in my newfound free time (a lifelong interest, and I even worked in AA(A?) back ca. ~2000), and in October 2023 I stumbled upon the idea of a roguelike pachinko&#x2F;plinko game inspired by Luck Be A Landlord. Things snowballed quickly, I started talking to publishers, then worked like crazy through all of 2024, almost the hardest I&#x27;ve ever worked in my career, and launched the game in December 2024. It&#x27;s sold ~200,000 units in its first 10 weeks on Steam. AntiLang is an interpreted programming language written in Go. 
The basic idea of this is to keep all the logical parts of a language same, but reverse the structure of it.The idea for this project came when I was having a long midnight conversation with my friend and thought of writing such a weird language. The initial draft was far worse than the current implementation; we thought of reversing the brackets and the language would be read from bottom to top. As the interpreter is written in Golang, I compiled it to WASM, and the whole interpreter is running in the browser. 
For the editor, I&#x27;m using Monaco, the same library that powers the text editor in VSCode.

I usually describe it as a Postman alternative since most developers are familiar with that, but it&#x27;s targeted more toward users that just want an API client (no mocking, testing, spec design, etc).Having also created Insomnia for a similar purpose, I never thought I&#x27;d build another API client again. But, after selling Insomnia in 2019 and watching it expand into the broader feature set of Postman, I was left wanting a simpler tool again. Yaak was my answer to that.It&#x27;s hard to describe how it&#x27;s better than the 100 other API clients, since its main benefit is design, but there are a few stand-out features:- Optionally sync data to a local directory as plain-text, for use with Git&#x2F;etc
- Build and install plugins for authentication, template functions, or generic actions
- Support for REST, GraphQL, WebSocket, server sent events, and gRPCYaak requires a license for commercial use but this only applies when using the prebuilt binaries. Keeping Elasticsearch or Algolia in sync with Postgres is a pain when your data spans multiple tables. Traditional CDC tools like Debezium capture table-level events but don’t help when you need to index a full entity composed of related records. That&#x27;s why I built PG-Capture.PG-Capture lets you define a schema as complex as you need, aggregate table-level events, and reconstruct structured objects spanning multiple tables. It then publishes them as meaningful domain-level events to any queue (RabbitMQ, SQS, etc.).PG-Capture does NOT replace Debezium, it works on top of it (or any other event source). 42 LED&#x27;s per strip, 4 strips total spaced 90 deg apart. 
Angular resolution of the image is 1 deg so it updates all 168 LED&#x27;s , 360 times per rotation.The LED&#x27;s are SK9822 individually addressable LED&#x27;s (also known as DotStar from Adafruit).Uses a magnet and hall effect sensor to keep track of rotation speed.The server can be run from a phone and using termux with a python server to serve locally to the esp.I need to periodically spin it up every time it slows down.My video camera shutter speed needs to be slow to show the correct effect otherwise it is either incomplete or it shows too many &quot;frames&quot; in a video frame.Gonna get around to making a blog post at some point to talk more about it in detail!

I really like the simplicity of the concept, having just one input (the puck horizontal position) and a simple gameplay that gives a low skill floor.My girlfriend and I played a lot of the excellent LBreakoutHD, an open source breakout game that follows the traditional formula of having multiple lives, scoring points by breaking bricks and catching the good upgrades that spawn randomly and fall down, while avoiding bad upgrades.She liked this game because it is non-violent, and doesn&#x27;t make her sick like the first person 3D games. There are some issues though, it gets boring to break the last bricks, it&#x27;s a bit unfair or slow sometimes, and the run length is too long with 30 something levels to clear for a high score.I wanted to make a clone that would be fix those issues. I first tried to introduce more strategy by making the upgrades visible from the start, instead of them appearing randomly. You&#x27;d then strategize what to break first to earn more points. That first version is playable (<a href="https:&#x2F;&#x2F;breakout-v1.lecaro.me&#x2F;" rel="nofollow">https:&#x2F;&#x2F;breakout-v1.lecaro.me&#x2F;</a>) but a bit too complex.I then wanted to simplify the gameplay, but make the game multiplayer in split screen (<a href="https:&#x2F;&#x2F;breakout-v2.lecaro.me&#x2F;" rel="nofollow">https:&#x2F;&#x2F;breakout-v2.lecaro.me&#x2F;</a>). Instead of bonus and malus, each brick drops some coins, and you need to catch them with the puck. This worked pretty well. You can play with the keyboard (A&#x2F;D and LEFT&#x2F;RIGHT keys) or mouse or both. The bomb explosions will blow coins around, including the coins of other players, and if you lose your ball, then a gap opens between your screen and the guy next to you, to give him a chance to lend you his ball. You can play using your phone as a controller by scanning the QR code, but make sure everyone is on the same Wi-Fi and that the the firewalls are down.For my last version (<a href="https:&#x2F;&#x2F;breakout.lecaro.me&#x2F;" rel="nofollow">https:&#x2F;&#x2F;breakout.lecaro.me&#x2F;</a>) is focused on the game feel and juice. It is about breaking bricks and catching coins, like the v2, but you can now pick upgrades at the end of each level. Your score unlocks more upgrades and levels that are added to the pool for the next runs. There are currently 31 upgrades and 91 levels to unlock.Please have a try and tell me what you think. A chat between team members can be forked into a dedicated Discussion with its own audience permissions and subscription. Individual messages or entire Discussions can be moved after the fact. Conversations can evolve unpredictably, so having the right tools to keep them organized post-hoc was important to us.(3) Improve search with AI and hierarchical information retrieval. We use LLMs to uncover insights, summarize content, and connect the dots across related discussions, meetings, and documents. We’ve been working on a search problem that requires querying both text and numbers simultaneously. For example, in a dataset of clothing items with descriptions and prices, a search for “slim pants for $20” should prioritize skinny jeans for $25 over slim pants for $50 because they are semantically similar and the price is closer. I’ve found that standard embedding models struggle with numerical ordering, while text-to-SQL methods rely on exact matches and often filter out too many results.To solve this, we built a system designed specifically for structured datasets like CSVs or tables. Here’s a demo link where you can upload a small CSV to try out (no login required): <a href="https:&#x2F;&#x2F;demo.tryvoker.com" rel="nofollow">https:&#x2F;&#x2F;demo.tryvoker.com</a>.Unlike most RAG approaches, we process each column independently, handling text with embeddings and numbers with custom scoring. When a user submits a query, we parse it into relevant fields—for instance, extracting “slim pants” as the description and “20” as the price. We then compute cosine similarity between the description embeddings and “slim pants” while also calculating the percent error between the user’s price input and the numerical field. These individual similarity scores are then combined across all columns to generate a final ranking.Right now, our system works best with well-structured data, so some preprocessing is often needed. We’re working on improving this by detecting and restructuring messy data automatically, such as pivoting columns or extracting attributes from large text fields. We’re also adding feedback mechanisms, like a thumbs up&#x2F;down system, to refine future search results based on user input.
